ARC Funding Schemes

Funding Scheme Description
Future Fellowships To promote research in areas of critical national importance by giving outstanding mid-career researchers incentives to conduct their research in Australia. Applications are encouraged from researchers working in areas of national priority. Preference is given to those researchers who can demonstrate a capacity to build collaboration across industry and/or research institutions and/or with other disciplines. Four-year fellowships of up to $143,000 per year will be offered, with up to $50,000 per annum awarded to the administering institution for infrastructure, equipment, travel and relocation costs directly related to the Future Fellow's research. This scheme will end in 2013.
Discovery Schemes (excluding Future Fellowships) The ARC's Discovery schemes aim to support fundamental research by individuals and teams, encourage research training in high-quality research environments and enhance international collaboration in research.

Baker IDI researchers may apply as Chief Investigators but applications must be submitted via the appropriate university's research office. The Monash Research Office closing date for applications is 2 February (ARC closing date 1 March).

Discovery Schemes are administered by higher education institutions (universities) only.

Linkage Grants The ARC's Linkage grant schemes aim to encourage and extend cooperative approaches to research and improve the use of research outcomes by strengthening links within Australia's innovation system and with innovation systems internationally.

Linkage Grants are administered by higher education institutions (universities) only.
